Brexit Facts4EU has been fortunate in being able to speak to a wide range of political figures on an equally broad array of issues affecting our readership. They are all busy people – as busy as we are – and therefore we have no expectations of instant responses when we contact someone.

That said, there are those who usually respond in some way, even if slightly delayed. After all, we have now been around for over 10 years and our name and our reach to hundreds of thousands of voters, (on a good day), certainly helps.

This is why our Chairman was a little surprised that he received no response from the Rt Hon Suella Braverman KC MP concerning a highly confidential matter over the past 10 days.

The answer came in a Reform UK flourish yesterday, when Suella was revealed as the latest convert to the cause of the Prophet Nigel. Oh to have had that particular little scoop!

Video Podcasts – Independence Facts4EU ‘gets down wiv the kids’

Anyone remember the early days of GB News’ broadcasting? Let’s just say that the technical glitches somewhat outweighed the times when everything ran smoothly. So it is with any ambitious new undertaking involving technology. In time, of course, GB News has overcome the worst of their bloopers and it is now a highly watchable channel, as its audience numbers indicate.

Undeterred, Independence Facts4EU has embarked on its own little broadcasting innovation: The ‘Sovereignty Podcasts’ with our new Facts4EU Podcasts Editor Graham Dale.

Graham is our latest volunteer who is now a member of the team. He came to us with the proposition that he would like to put on short, weekly podcasts on a wide range of subjects. Neither he nor we had any experience of doing this, but Graham had complete conviction he could learn what was needed and produce something thought-provoking each week for Facts4EU readers.

Chagos – Why HAS the Trump Administration changed its mind?

There has been much speculation about the reasons President Trump and his team have suddenly changed their mind about Sir Keir Starmer giving away one of the UK’s most-prized assets to a Chinese ally, (Mauritius). And paying them tens of billions for the privilege, of course.

Putting aside the most obvious reason – our letter which was hand-delivered to his inner circle by a legal colleague a couple of months ago – the President’s reason is not Greenland, and neither is it hard to fathom. The occupant of the White House has an enormous number of competing subjects requiring his attention. The UK’s trouble over 60-odd little Islands was not one of these.

Eventually, however, the large number of interventions, from Nigel Farage to our consistent reporting on all aspects of the deal, to the magnificent efforts from Claire Bullivant and the GB-PAC team, have finally broken through.

Volunteers wanted

Regular readers will know that we have been undergoing some changes during the same period as Suella Braverman was considering her own massive leap. The time finally came when we had to put things to readers fairly bluntly.

Very large numbers of ordinary voters, as well as many MPs and Peers, have come to appreciate our extraordinary daily output of original, well-researched work on a wide range of topics. Sadly, only a tiny fraction has ever supported us financially and our Chairman could no longer afford to subsidise our operations, with his own investment over 10 years being into seven figures. (Yes, you read that right.)

Members of our team had, one-by-one, been forced to leave to pursue activities that paid them more than a tenth of the minimum wage. Every single one left reluctantly, believing very strongly that there has seldom been a need for a fully-staffed Facts4EU as now.

Accordingly we issued an urgent appeal for more volunteers to join us, as well as an appeal for funding. We received a few donations, for which we are very grateful, and dealt with two offers of help. The result of one of these can be seen tomorrow, with the first of our weekly ‘Sovereignty Podcasts’. We continue to talk to the other individual, but remain badly in need of more offers of help. Go on, you know you want to!

What’s so secretive about Starmer’s latest move to align with EU?

There’s now nothing secret about the fact Sir Keir Starmer and his government colleagues desire as many deals taking us back into the orbit of the European Union as possible. This all leads to the ‘natural’ decision that “we might as well go the whole hog and Rejoin”.

Well, we now have another one. As ever, it’s exclusive. We have not seen a word about it in the national press. You will, however, be able to find out ALL about it here. So keep coming back!

Suella Braverman, sacked by Liz Truss! Reform UK are scraping the barrel of the Cons Party. SB held a number of ministerial positions, longest period was a little over 1 year.

Trump made his announcement on Chagos to distract from and in frustration over Greenland. He’ll probably change his mind again, and again, and again.

1. Sparky Braveman’s decision to align with Reform UK appears driven by the party’s increasing support and visibility in Fareham and Waterlooville. In the 2024 general election, Reform UK garnered 18.1% of the vote (9,084 votes), finishing fourth behind the Conservatives (35%, led by Suella Braverman), Labour (22.9%), and the Liberal Democrats (19%). This performance was remarkable for a relatively new party, especially in a region historically dominated by the Conservatives. While Reform UK did not secure the seat, the defection of a well-regarded incumbent MP, the establishment of a robust local presence, and clear pockets of enthusiastic backing indicate the party is gaining traction, particularly among voters dissatisfied with the Conservatives. He never intended to invade Greenland; instead, his goal was to pressure European nations to strengthen their military presence and revitalize neglected defense infrastructure. Within days of his comments, European troops began mobilizing, and countries started investing in defense capabilities—achieving precisely what he sought. This mirrors his earlier presidency, when he compelled NATO countries to increase defense spending under the implied threat of the U.S. withdrawing from the alliance. Germany, one of NATO’s most significant underperformers in defense spending, notably increased its budget from €30 billion to €100 billion annually.

The US is the EU's largest market, it's exports to the US were worth $618 Billion in 2024 while it's US imports were only $371 Billion, and a fifth of this was fuel - LNG and oil.

The Conservative Party’s interpretation of Brexit was fundamentally different from how most British voters saw it. For the public, Brexit was about British nationalism: a clear mandate for a restrictive immigration policy and putting British interests first.
